Museum
The Wick Heritage Museum is deceptively large. Visitors to the
facility at 18-27 Bank Row, in Lower Pulteneytown, could be forgiven
for thinking that the entrance room is the Museum - it is filled with
interest. However, it is only the first of 24 displays set out in the
rooms of the former dwelling houses, and in adjoining buildings at the
rear.
A selection of the displays can be accessed under the Museum heading of this Web site.
We recommend that visitors allow two hours to tour the exhibits and
be inspired by this unique experience. Local guides are on hand to
answer questions and to add their own 'tales of the town'.
For the more energetic, why not climb the terraced gardens at the
rear of the Museum and enjoy the fine views of the harbour, Wick Bay
and Thomas Telford's Lower Pulteneytown.
Tour parties can be accommodated but it is requested that the tour
operators give prior notice of the visit so that additional volunteers
can be assembled to assist with guidance and information.
